Joutseno, Lappee, Lappeenranta, Lauritsala and Sammonlahti parishes are independent. Still, the parish union takes care of the parishes’ economy, real property, HR-unit and the organizing of funeral services.

Lappeenranta parish union is also a significant employer since it has almost 200 employees. The union works with and organizes activity related to different areas of life. You have the chance to meet us during services, events and weekly occurring functions. Our job is to offer both emotional and tangible support, no matter the phase of life. Our employees are professionals in different fields, for example in spiritual matters or support services for the parish. Community cohesion is key when it comes to running our parishes.

Our work is done in parishes and as joint activity in the union.

The joint activity in the parish union of Lappeenranta

On top of the activity that the parishes are responsible for, we have some joint activity. This includes for example ECEC, hospital spiritual counselling, family counselling, cooperation with schools, special diaconal work, special youth work, music schools in churches, communication, funeral services and our administration and economy as a whole. The union also takes care of all real property, including the renting of the its apartments and other property. From the beginning of the year, diaconal work will also become a joint activity. Our union also has a marching band.

We serve communities in many different ways and together with our cooperators. We have dozens of different experts working with areas included in our joint activity, the administration of the union and funeral services.
